HIKING ๐Ÿฅพ WITH TBI/DISABILITIES

Hello, everyone! I have been meaning to start writing about this topic, so today is the day.

Todayโ€™s hike took place at Wolf ๐Ÿบ Run ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿƒ Shoals for about 4.5 miles. It was, um, pretty tough. It was not nearly as difficult as the previous day, but it was still challenging.

First things first-KNOW YOUR PATH! What I mean by this is be aware of the trail you are getting ready to experience. How long is it? Does it have hills? Does it have rocks? Does it have steep elevations? Does it cross water ๐Ÿ’ฆ or lakes or streams?

If you plan to go on a longer hike, it is wise to bring water and a light snack. If you have a cell phone, bring that along too. If you have a GPS, that will come in handy as well.

Spend time looking at a map ๐Ÿ—บ on paper ๐Ÿ“ or on your phone. Do you have your path planned out? It is also wise to let someone know when and where you are going and when you plan to return.

I also wanted to mention you might want to bring along a flashlight ๐Ÿ”ฆ in case your cell phone ๐Ÿ“ฒ battery ๐Ÿ”‹ runs out. As I write this, I am reminded that you should also bring along some warmer clothes if it seems as if it will be getting cooler later.

If you have any additional ideas ๐Ÿ’ก or hints or advice, please share this with all of us!
