A Flock of Birds 🦢 🐦 🦅 (No, they were NOT seagulls!) 😂

img_0004.jpgOkay, so this is a story about birds, so if that frightens you, please don’t read anymore.

We were out on a hike and we were making our way up a hill and then we heard this amazing and somewhat scary sound.  It sounded like a WOOSH and it was LOUD.  We looked up and there  they were, all 400-500 of these black birds.  It was a sight to behold.  They were all together and in unison it the sky above the trees.  The trees are very tall and if you did not move your head up you would have missed them.

It was a lesson in looking at the whole picture and finding joy and excitement in everyday experiences.  I was totally focused on their progress and nothing else was on my mind.  They gave us some sprinkles to put on top of our beautiful walk in nature.

It was cool but we dressed appropriately.  We came prepared and had a delightful and refreshing time.  We filled our lungs and brains with fresh air.  Fresh air is oxygen for our brains.  Fresh air improves the cleaning of our lungs.  The more oxygen we take in, the greater our brains can function.

Going outside also helps us produce vitamin D from the sun ☀️ 🌞 which supports our immune system, makes our bones stronger, and more!  It can reduce stress and might even improve our short-term attention functions.

How does going outside/outdoors boost your mood?  How does it make your brain and body feel?  Please let me know and please share any outdoor activities in which you like to take part.  Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I’m gardening this year to gain more sun, sitting out in the morning drinking coffee in the sun, sometimes, also walking or putting my feet in the dirt for a few minutes. Thank you great post here!
