If you don’t do it exactly when you PLANNED, you CAN do it later. I know this for a fact because I just did this.
Let me explain. A typical day for me involves my ritualistic cup of coffee ( or 2 or 3), some writing, and then some exercise before lunch. Time just ran away from me, so now it’s way after lunchtime and I have not eaten or exercised. Now I’m out of wack, out of sync. I could take a nap, or I could do the exercise at a different time. I chose to exercise.
I don’t know about your brain, or the brains of other TBI survivors, but I have found by research and experience that routines work the best. It’s not like something will suddenly jump out at you if you DON’T follow your set schedule? No, but it takes more effort to redirect and align our brains to change plans and direction. That’s just the way it is, and I have not been able to find a way around that. Some people can just adjust to changes and even flourish in it, but not me. But I CAN do it, and so can you! I don’t plan on making this a regular thing, but now I know I CAN CHANGE MY PLANS IF I WANT/NEED TO.
I do not plan on making today’s change in plans a regular thing, but sometimes things come up, and I know I can adapt. If I can do it, I KNOW you can, too!
God bless you and have a wonderful day!
